Clients, friends and their families with residences in Cook County, Illinois: Important Property Tax Reminder!
Attorneys Marc Sherman and Maureen Meersman remind us that the deadline to apply for property tax savings in Cook County is Friday, May 15th.
Applying online is easy and allows certain exemptions to roll over each year. It doesn’t take much time to be sure that eligible residents can confirm available Homeowner Exemption, Senior Exemption, “Senior Freeze” Exemption, as well as special tax treatment for Persons with Disabilities and Veterans with Disabilities.
If you have already applied, or if you are assisting a family member who may have challenges preventing them from confirming their own exemptions, our Team recommends that you can check the status of the exemption by reaching out to the Cook County Assessor’s official website, or use this link: https://assessorpropertydetails.cookcountyil.gov/forms/htmlframe.aspx?mode=content/home.htm
